TAFE NSW Band Competition – State Final

Every year the Hunter Institute Student Association supports student bands to show off their talent, as part of the National Campus Band Comp. This year’s TAFE NSW Band Competion State Final was held at Dee Why RSL on Thursday 18th August. Hunter TAFE Band Competition winners, Jupiter Menace,  battled it out against bands from around NSW, for the title of 2011 State Champions and the right to progress in the National Campus Band Comp. Jupiter Menace did not win the State title this year, but their awesome performances have gained them many fans along the way. Check out the Hunter Institute Student Association Facebook album for some great photos.

Live at the Lunchbox

Each Monday around lunchtime Newcastle Campus provides live music in the S-Block courtyard, just outside the library.  This is run by the Music Business students in conjunction with the Student Association during each week of classes. Click here to go to the Student Association page for photos.
