Next Tuesday at Newcastle Campus there will be a market held in conjunction with the Live at the Lunchbox music session. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy live music and a free BBQ and also do some Christmas shopping! Certificate IV Graphic Design students have been busy creating a range of hand-made items, including screen-printed t-shirts, bags and jewellery.
Heritage Photographs at Newcastle Library
Newcastle Campus Library is currently displaying a large collection of historical photographs. Part of the Newcastle Technical College Bicentenary Historical Exhibition, held September 1997 at the Hunter Street Campus, the exhibition centred on the development of Technical Education in Newcastle, focusing mainly on Hunter St., Wood St. (Hamilton) and Tighes Hill sites. The exhibition was held as the Hunter Institute’s contribution to the Newcastle Bicentenary Celebration.
There are almost 40 photos on display in the library, both on the ground and first floors. Please come in and have a look at TAFE’s past. You can also do a search in Equella using the phrase “Hunter Institute Heritage Collection” to view all the photographs.
