TAFE NSW Open Day at Gosford

Gosford Campus hosted TAFE NSW Open Day on 18 August. Visitors were able to experience life on campus with campus and specialised tours running throughout the day.

Everyone who attended and registered received a tote bag and free coffee before having the opportunity to explore information booths; meet teachers and TAFE ambassadors; discover learner support services including counselling, disabilities and library services and unlock Hidden Art created in augmented reality by TAFE students.

The Star FM 104.5 Radio Station Street Team were on hand with biscuit decorating, prize wheel and giveaways. Local Central Coast performers entertained with live music, while a yummy free sausage sizzle was cooking for all to enjoy!

The new Interactive Be Ambitious Career Match Maker App was a hit! The app helps find your perfect career in a fun way by aligning your career with your interests.

If you missed it on the day, it’s now available to download on Apple and Google Play stores.

Step Back in Time at Kurri Kurri TAFE Library

Believe it or not, there was a time before mobile phones and tablets, wireless networks, virtual reality and artificial intelligence…..

Technology has come a long way in a relatively short time period. At Kurri Kurri Library, we thought we’d display some of the technology that we used to use in TAFE.

Do you remember using any of this equipment? Perhaps you were shown images on slide projectors in class? Maybe you borrowed audio cassettes to listen to? My personal favourite is the old laptop, complete with floppy disk! Very different from the devices of today, that’s for sure!
