National Storytime at Hunter TAFE’s Newcastle Campus Library

Last week students from Hunter TAFE’s Diploma of Library and Information Services participated in the Australian Library and Information Association’s (ALIA) event the National Simultaneous Storytime. This event is held every year in libraries across Australia. Our Hunter TAFE students presented storytime for the Kindergarten class at Islington Public School.  The featured book was “The Brothers Quibble” by Aaron Blabey.

The event was a great success and yesterday our students again presented storytime to children from the Newcastle Campus Creche.  The children enjoyed storytime in Hunter TAFE’s Newcastle Campus Library and were able to participate in some activities with the Diploma students.  This is great experience for our Hunter TAFE students and lots of fun for the creche kids!
