National Reconciliation Week 27 May – 3 June marks the significant milestones in Australia’s reconciliation journey:

  • 50 years since the 1967 referendum
  • 25 years since the historic 1992 Mabo decision
  • 9 years since the 2008 national apology to Australia’s indigenous peoples

The theme for #NRW2017 is ‘Let’s Take the Next Steps’, encouraging all Australians to be a part of the next big steps in our nation’s reconciliation journey.

TAFE libraries have a wealth of information on Australian indigenous history, culture and contemporary insights. This week resources and factsheets are on display in libraries, and you can also search online here or visit the Aboriginal Studies LibGuide: http://huntertafe.libguides.com/aboriginal_studies
