many happy returns!

If you are completing your course, don’t forget to return all of your library loans and clear any overdue fees before you go. This will ensure that you get your course results.

If you are continuing your studies in 2019, why not relax with a good book from the library or renew your current loans? Check TAFEcat for some great fiction, biographies, magazines or DVDs to borrow until the start of term 1 2019. You will need to be enrolled, if not, pick up a Continuing Student form from the library to be signed by one of your teachers.

I didn’t know that …

… I can get an Inter-Library Loan!

Interlibrary loans available from TAFE NSW Libraries

No matter what you’re studying at TAFE NSW, it’s great to know that you can get a range of items you need. If your current library does not have an item you need you can ask your friendly librarian for an Inter-Library Loan.

An Inter-Library Loan is a loan from another library, posted to the library where you are studying. It is a free service, and the item must be directly related to what your are studying. There are a number of ways to request an inter-library loan:

  1. Ask your librarian in person
  2. Ask your librarian over the phone
  3. Online via the Ask a Librarian Form (Found on the TAFE catalogue and on each LibGuide)

Once the item has arrived you will receive a call to let you know you can pick it up.

Another great service you’ll receive as a student at TAFE NSW.

White Ribbon Day 23rd November 2018

The White Ribbon campaign is active in over 60 nations across the world and is a global movement working to end male violence against women and girls. The movement seeks to promote healthy relationships, gender equity and a compassionate vision of masculinity.

Please support this day by thinking of the 58 women who have been killed by men in acts of violence in Australia since 1st January 2018 and also wearing a White Ribbon on November 23rd.

Last week Hamilton Library, in conjunction with Cert IV Youth work students hosted a morning tea in support of White Ribbon day. More than 60 staff and students enjoyed lovely treats while listening to Brooke from VOCAL speak of the effects of domestic violence on the women in our community.
