Be a rebel … borrow a banned book!

Hundreds of books are challenged or removed from libraries across the world every year.  Newcastle library is promoting banned book week, a campaign which celebrates the freedom to read.  So come into Newcastle library and borrow a banned book.

Published in 1932, Australia was just one of the countries which banned the novel Brave new World by Aldous Huxley.  Today, this book is still challenged in parts of the world.

Animal Studies at Belmont Library IRL!

Students love coming to their course when they get to play with Tittens the kitten who looks like a tiger!

Tittens is helping our students gain real life experience with animal care and handling, while also showing off the new Animal Studies resources available at Belmont Library. Clever kitty!
