Nursing Students c1970s Newcastle Campus

Technical Education in the Hunter began in the 1890s resulting in the formation of Technical Colleges which evolved into Hunter TAFE. Over that time hundreds of different vocational and recreational courses have been taught here.  One example from 1972 was when Newcastle Technical College offered a new exciting and innovative Nursing Course that provided hands on training alongside practical experience in hospitals. Hunter TAFE is still providing quality training for Nursing students today.
