RU OK? Day – September 15 2011
This Thursday is R U OK? Day. It’s a national day of action aimed at suicide prevention. For more information, click here to go to the website.
What can you do?
It’s simple. Just start a conversation with someone you care about. This might be a friend or family member, a work colleague or anyone that you are concerned about. Help stop little problems turning into big ones, by asking the question “are you ok?”
How does this help?
It’s important to connect with others. Becoming isolated may lead to depression and other mental illnesses, which can ultimately result in suicide. Regular, meaningful conversations contribute to good mental health and help to boost general wellbeing. So, show someone you care!
